1. What is Universal Design?

Universal design can be described as the process of creating a product or a service which is used to make the product accessible to the large range of people accessible by catering to their diverse abilities and disability keeping in mid the age, type and other factors in mind when creating the service or product for them.


2. Describe the difference between Universal Design of learning and Universal design of instruction

Universal Design of learning - The Universal Design of learning is the universal method of education designing that helps people to have flexible and suitable environment for learning based on scientific and neurological principles on human learning pattern. The Universal Design of learning helps to design and tailor physical spaces so as to accommodate the diverse needs of the students to learn while addressing the individuals interest, learning profiles and readiness.

One the other hand the Universal design of instruction is the application of the universal design principles to help develop the framework for providing educational instructions to promote learning with individuals or students with disabilities or wide requirements. In the Universal design of instruction we take nto account the universal needs to develop a teaching curriculum so as to help wider student groups with methods and assessment tools to help them with effective instructions to promote learning


3. Create a product, communication, or company according to the principles of Universal Design.

We can create a product using universal design principles such as a educational text book for covering the curriculum. This book will have specific changes such as bigger font size, use of major color pallets, inclusion of picture based learning, easy to see and understand the material, making it as simple as possible to comprehend with instructions in pictures and colors. This type of boos with above mentioned changes are suggested to make the book on universal design for instructions for students with learning disabilities and eye sight issues. Also students with reading disability can used pictorial cues to understand and comprehend the content and help them lean instead of traditional text based textbooks for the schools.


4. How can we promote cultural competence and uphold diversity and inclusion as healthcare professionals?

Cultural competence is the skill or ability to interact communicate, understand and work effectively with people belonging to diverse cultural inclinations and belongings. We can promote cultural competence by hiring and promotion of people with diverse cultural backgrounds so as to have a skilled workforce at the healthcare organizations that we can have the professionals as well as patients learning about cultures and helping people with diverse cultures effectively. by inclusion of culturally diverse people in all the department we not only take care of diversity but also apply cultural inculcation in the healthcare teams and organization at large. This clearly helps in the longer term where the organization policy and healthcare delivery takes into account the diverse cultural factors and needs that can help us better interact, communicate and effectively work together for patient treatment and smooth functioning of the organization at the same time.
