hare an ethical and/or legal experience you have encountered in work, or may expect to encounter in your work.
If you were the person in charge, how would you have responded to the situation and why?
I had encountered an ethical experience in my last job. I was working as an auditor there. When I was checking the financial documents, I had found some material errors and financial disproportions in the financial statements. I immediately approached my senior and told him about it in brief. He heard me patiently and then asked me to let it pass. I was not convinced, so I visited the head of the concerned department and told her about the issue. She heard me and told me that I should go with the right instinct and with ethics. I reported the mistake finally. When the CEO of the company was informed about that he was happy that I did my job with full responsibility and accountability. I was promoted to senior auditor after a few months.
If I were an in-charge I would have reported the mistake right away instead of visiting my boss and then head of the concerned department for the clarification. It is because ethics are quite important for the survival of any organization. It was my duty as an auditor to ensure that the financial statements are accurate for taxation purposes and for shareholders' purposes.
