Question to be Answered in context to International business
- Outline and justify your chosen ethical framework
- Consider any ethical issues that the firm may encounter linked economic factors.
- Determine if a focus on ethical actions impacts the firm’s final choice to internationalise.
when the business expands internationally, the firm should not only think about its goals, mission, vision, policies and strategies nut it should also take to consideration the ethical side of the business. Companies face many more and ethical challenges when they expand their business internationally. This might affect the decision making in the path of future success. Few of the corncering ethical issues are outsourcing, working standards, diversity, equal opportunity, child labour, human rights, religion, corruption etc. It is expected, that international trading follows rules of state, central, environmental regulation, monetary and fiscal policies as well as civil laws.
The ethical issues we are going to look into is the impact on the environment. This is one of the main ethical issues faced by businessmen in the international market. How the production of a certain commodity or the consumption of that certain commodity affects the environmental balance is of great concern now. Products with minimalor no externalities is promoted now a days. Most of the major companies in the world have been working the Environment Protection Act regulations for years, but there are certain companies that doesn't follow these or there are countries that doesn't have these requirements. When a company starts a foreign operation, they try to implement their environmental standards . But in most of the host countries does not have this strict environmental policies. Thus most of companies are tempted or exploits the host country's environment. This can cause a harmful global image. heavy industries such as energy and manufacturing have the image of destroyers of nature and wildlife and thus causes pollution and other environmental harms. Inorder to satisfy the ethical concerns the companies have to replace their production techniques with those of the governmental standards of emissions. This will be down only by increasing the investment for better green technology.
