How does the body respond during the resting period after exercise? Explain why the body responds this way.
In the period exercise lactic acid is produced from pyruvate due to the less availability of oxygen. generally pyruvate is converted into another molecules by various different cycles and form ATP. This process requires availability of oxygen.
During exercise period oxygen is unavailable and Pyruvate not able to go in citric acid cycle and ATP formation is reduced because less availability of oxygen 2cells. Cells not able to get proper oxygen amount which leads to formation of lactate from pyruvate.
So, in the resting period the form lactate is again converted into pyruvate with the process of Cori cycle.
In the process of Cori cycle lagte this again converted into pyruvate. These lactate molecules are formed in the muscles due to oxygen unavailability and then transported to the level by the process of
cori cycle. In the liver lactate is converted into pyruvate which undergo conversion into glucose. These glucose molecules are formed in liver and transported back to the muscles for ATP formation.
In the resting period oxygen is available to cells so again ATP formation has started.
