Old age is generally considered as the age of 65 and above. This is an age where all five sense organs of our body begin to decline or start showing the process of aging or low performance as compared to that in early ages. Several factors are strongly associated with aging and the concept varies entirely from country to country and culture followed by the same. There are several positives and negatives for the elderly. The negatives generally found are the material deprivation as well as poverty. This is primarily because the elderly solely depend on pension and they do not have any other source of income. Materials enjoyed by them due to poor income would also be far lower than those they enjoyed during their prime time or when young. Several benefits are found enjoyed by the elderly as compared to other groups. They are free from several responsibilities and leading a peaceful life. They do not have to care anymore regarding the future of their children or spend time thinking about repaying mortgages. They can also fight for the rights they deserve without thinking of any possible consequences.
The answer will change focusing more towards the positive side as one experiences with time. The elderly population is the ones who are generally neglected by society and therefore when young, we would feel that getting old is worthless. However, when we start enjoying the peaceful life of the elderly, we would start realizing the true meaning of real-life and that there is no point in running behind money whatsoever when peace is the most important of all.
