Cultural competence in healthcare is often defined as the capacity of a health care systems to provide and maintain high quality care to patients with diverse values, beliefs and behaviors, also include monitoring of healthcare delivery to meet patients social, cultural and linguistic requirements.

Organizations that are culturally competent always have improved health outcomes, increased respect and mutual understanding from patients, and increased participation from the local community .It encourages the acknowledgement and acceptance of differences in appearance, behavior and culture. In the field of health care we always encounter diverse clients from a wide range of backgrounds.Thus it is very important to have cultural competence in health care.

In the case of cultural competence in health care there are many interventions that may cause harm and also include unintended consequences of an intervention.

For example, when cultural competence interventions often focus to enhance cultural sensitivity by reducing stereotyping and negative stigma, there is always a possibility that some interventions may unintentionally induce different conventional behaviors , creating new scripts or ways of categorizing people, that result in negative consequences.

There is always a large number of the assumption that all patients share similar health beliefs and behaviors ignores im-portant differences between and within groups.
