Take what you know about healthcare reform - the political, cultural, practical and financial aspects and assess whether a successful reform in one nation be transplanted to another nation successfully?
If even remotely possible, what would success depend on?
The health care reform named as Affordable Care Act or Obama care is considered where it is politically motivated to deliver benefit to the poor people and practically it was difficult to be implemented, but it achieved considerable success in the USA. Though, it had a doubtful financial aspects to gather funding to finance the project.
This type of reform can be implemented or transplanted in another nations such as India with success in limited extent, but it requires government's willingness, presence of suitable health care infrastructure and changes in regulations that can make companies of certain sizes to mandatorily give health care insurance. Besides, the government has to organize funding for the program and communicate well with the different types of health care service providers.
Hence, success depends upon the following factors:
1. Presence of necessary infrastructure
2. Availability of the funds to finance the program
3. Presence of similar schemes that can facilitate the implementation of health care reform
4. Regulation of service providers
5. Political willingness among the government
