Sociology is the study of human interactions, the complicated nature of human settlements, the interdependent coexistence of social institutions, and how it affects humans. In simple terms, sociology is the study of society, social relationships, and institutions. Though sociology as a subject is very modern discipline, it has its roots in philosophy like many other sister social science subjects. Sociology has a very diverse area of interest. It doesn't only study society in its current forms but also tries to find out trends and colinear existence throughout the course of history. It also studies humans and their interaction with the environment to personal, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and society as a unit. It would be safe to say, sociology allows us to think critically about any social phenomenon that is currently taking place around us through broad perspectives. There are many hidden deep dark secrets of our society that we are not generally conscious of, such as prejudices and stereotypes, sociology helps us to uncover our own personal biases and expand our understanding so that our rational decision-making ability and understanding is not impaired by these biases.
