Expert Solution

Part 1:

A project sponsor is the navigating force of the project in hand who is responsible for monitoring and directing a project towards it's desired objective to be completed. A sponsor also has the following roles and functionalities

1. They determine and are responsible for financing the project and see that the required payments are attended to.

2. Assigns and selects the members of the  Steering Committee and assess the working of the project management office

3. The sponsor is responsible for identifying critical factors and review the deliverable products

4. The sponsor is actively involved in the project and can often evaluate if the project can be considered to be successful in terms of its final output

5. They also communicate with the other stakeholders to verify and resolve conflicts in opinions that may arise otherwise

The approval committee can be thought of as the final regulatory and observant body which takes decisions that directly impact the working and even existence of the project itself

1.It's responsiblity includes that of planning out the details and also managing the project .

2. It can choose to terminate projects which aren't monetarily feasible

3. It assigns the various core(important tasks) that need to be done

Part 2:

The company shall prefer to proceed with an Hybrid model instead of a traditional waterfall model because of the various factors that come into play because of it being an accounting firm and more of than not they aren't really sure of their requirements and often require flexibility and as they deal with money, there is a important necessity of having a robust and complex model which is a limitation of the Waterfall model.

In Hybrid model,

it is suggested to pursue a Spiral model, as one of it's biggest benefits is the fact that it is capable of handling risks and has a strong sense of approval and documentation control. It also provides flexibility in requirement and is hence the prefered model
