Elaborate and discuss how "Emotional Intelligence" is applicable on each of the following: 1. Learning for the first time. 2. Expanding knowledge base. 3. Remembering and applying learned concepts. 4. When things don't go according to the plan. 5. When change occurs.
Emotional intelligence is about handling one's emotions with care, a person is aware of the capacity to control the emotions and to handle interpersonal relationships empathetically and judiciously. According to Daniel Golmann there are five elements involved in emotional intelligence Self awareness, self regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills.
Self awareness - Hence if a person is learning something for first time then that person is aware that this is something new, so he pays more attention to it.
Motivation - Then a person gets motivated to search more for the information related to that topic which expands his knowledge base.
Empathy - Empathy is about feeling what other person feels and hence empathy more helps in applying concepts in day to day life. A person can feel that this is something very theoretical knowledge and why to apply it in real life style. For e.g. any principle of physics or any psychological concept and hence such things are applied in real life.
When things do not work as per the plan - Social skills and self awareness - A person knows that things are not working as per the plan, he realizes that his own intelligence is insufficient enough to work or to concentrate on things so he takes helps of others. For eg: join any study group, take guidance from teachers or seniors.
When change occurs - Empathy - A person is able to feel that there is some change, he has started knowing how to solve those things, and how to solve those problems which was not possible before, He starts feeling more and more confident.
