Emotional intelligence refers to as a capacity to understand and manage person's emotions. Emotional intelligence plays a vital role in conflict management. Emotional intelligence affects how we manage behavior, navigate situations and make decisions. To use emotional intelligence in conflict resolution, make polite statements of facts, ask questions and listen to other person’s view point without being judgmental. This will lead to resolve the conflict by recognizes and meets everyone’s needs. People with high emotional intelligence are more effective in resolving emotions. Emotional intelligence skills are self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management. If a person is self aware and can manage himself or herself then he or she can easily manage conflicts by listening and understanding other’s view point and can calmly advice them for their improvement.
