What is Emotional Intelligence? How can a manager use each of
the 4 traits?
Emotional intelligence can be considered as the capability of a person to manage and control the relationship ourself and with the others in the more efficient way.The skills of Emotional intelligence can be learned at any age but it takes commitment and practice.
The four traits of emotional intelligence are self awareness, self management, social awareness and finally the social skill.
Self awareness:- It is more understanding the Emotional capability of self assessment, the impact on work place . Managers can use this to understand how an employee can behave at Situation and how it can impact the overall work situation and helps in estimating the risk
Self management:- It is more application of trust worthiness, adaptibailty and initiatives to improve the self skills where managers can apply on their resources..
Social awareness and social skills :- It is more of organization awareness and empathy . This has more of external environment factors too like service orientation which is basically how to dealt with the customers. The fourth step is social skills. Managers can effectively use on visionary skills, mentoring, conflict management etc.
