1. Could the Civil War have been avoided? Was western expansion inevitable? How did one event contribute to the other?

The expansion of slavery into the Western territory caused a high level of controversy and it triggered the fear that North is going to control the south and it was highly worrisome sign that led to the triggering of the civil war.

Yes, it is always a subject of debate and various renowned historians often advocates that the civil war would have been avoided through a better system of negotiations and better channel of communication.

Westward expansion generally had a negative impact on the common Americans. Native American were forced to live on the reservations and there was a huge conflict between the military and the native Americans that cause the whole lot tentions and that also triggered a large number of native American adding to the civil war and they were not trying to negotiate because of their fellow native Americans being killed.

It is a common belief that civil war was fought on the basis of the slavery but there is a another angle of economic as well as political control of the system of slavery because various people do not want to abolish that and wanted to keep the system so that led to triggering of us civil war

it can be summarised that better negotiations and better communication at place could have prevented triggering of emotions by compromising them and that could have prevented a civil war.
