(Answer) Most of the world population lives in cities, suburban and rural areas. The cultures of most of these areas are formed from the basic cultural framework of having to earn one’s wages. These wages are used to purchases items of daily necessities. Harbouring cultures that hamper the ability to carry out daily duties are rare and a novelty.
Tribal individuals, on the other hand, might not have too many fundamental ideologies. Their needs are met by the resources that nature offers them. In other words, their traditions are those that take up a part of their daily lives. Such traditions are those that regular people might not have the time for and might never have experienced.
That is why watching the Nacirema culture where unusual body piercings and disfiguration is a cause for a “culture shock.” Culture shock is common when one observes the traditions of a culture that is very much the opposite of their own. Perhaps, that is why “Nacirema” is “American” spelled backwards.
