Complete the following Lab and submit screenshots showing each step.
IRC is an older application layer protocol which is the ancestor of many modern message applications. While it has greatly declined in popularity, there are still several million people using IRC.

IRC is a text only chat based protocol. There are many IRC clients you can use, and several of them are web based.

Connect to an IRC room of your choice, and post a screenshot and short description of the room and how you found it.

I will explain the procedure step by step.

STEP1: I used google search engine and made a search for "irc client download". The very first link to download mIRC client as shown in following image.

after downloading mIRC client i installed it on my windows OS.

STEP2: Now start the mIRC client by double clicking mIRC icon. It will show following window.

if you want you can register yourself by clicking Register button, otherwise click on "continue" button. After clicking continue button it shows the following window. This tells us our validity period of evaluation copy of mIRC, which is 30 days.

Now, click on continue it will show following window,

Now enter your desired name in "Nickname" field and on the upper left corner click on the "server" tab which is included in "connect" tab it shows following image.

Choose "Undernet" from the list of IRC servers and click on "select" button and it will show following window.

now click on "connect " button. it will show the following window. (CAUTION: if it prompts nickname is already in use, just exit from the application and start it again. Previously i entered nickname is "John". this nickname was already in use so i restarted the application and used nickname "jIO"  ).

Now, select the #AllNiteCafe and click join. it will show the following chat window.

Now, start chatting by typing words in bottom text field. as shown in following image.
