Here is a list of examples of nonphysical aggression:
Gossiping · Spreading rumors · Criticizing other people behind their backs · Bullying · Leaving others out of a group or otherwise ostracizing them · Turning people against each other · Dismissing the opinions of others · ―Stealing a boyfriend or girlfriend · Threatening to break up with partner if the partner does not comply · Flirting with another person to make a partner jealous
Select and describe one of these that you have experienced as a victim, and one that you yourself have perpetrated. Describe your feelings at the time of occurrence and also how you feel about them now.
I have engaged in gossiping about a boy and girl of having a relationship with others in my group while they only had a friendly relationship and that they didn’t have any physical attraction or sexual intentions. When they came to know about it, they both felt bad because they both had their own boyfriend and girlfriend thus, I made them victims. I was bullied by my classmates in my school days for the way I looked. I was not included in any group for a while which hurt my feelings. However, I made-up my mind and draw my courage when a singing competition in the school came up. When I won second prize in the competition, many who bullied me for my looks became my friends and fans for my talent. Now, when I recall those moments, I feel that I have been involving in activities that hurt the feelings of others and made others victim without realising it. However, when it happened to me, I was not happy. So, it’s better not to engage in activities that would unintentionally make another person victim.
