Using the Competing Values Framework, firstly, identify the characteristics

(i.e, clan adhocracy, hierarchy, or market) and determine the organisation’s dominant culture. Secondly, provide evidence to justify your determination of its dominant culture.

Based on your evidence you provided in (c), evaluate how the organisation’s current policies and practices uphold and sustain its dominant culture.

How an organisation’s culture interlinks with/impact on organisational structure and practices; group and social processes; collective attitudes and behaviour; and organisational outcomes.

(note: for the purpose of this assignment, policies and practices refer to organisational behaviour, management, and work psychology concepts. For example, job design/re-design, developing and leading effective teams, managing conflicts and negotiating, leadership, managing change and stress).

Cameroon and Quinn developed an organizational culture framework based on the theoritical model called "Competing Value Framework ".This framework refers to whether an organization have predominant internal or external focus and whether it strives for flexibility and individuality or stability and control. The framework is also based upon six organization culture dimension and four dominant culture types (such as clan, adhocracy, market and hierarchy) .In addition the framework authors created Organization Culture Assessment Instrument(OCAI) which is used to identify organization culture profiling based on core values, assumptions, interpretations and approaches that characterizes organization.

The competency value framework can be used to construct an organizational culture profile.Through the use of OCAI ,an organizational culture profile can be constructed by establishing organization's dominant culture type characteristics. There are four dominant culture of an organization as identified by Cultural Value Framework.These are-

1.CLAN-An organization that concentrates on internal maintanence and flexibility, concern for people and sensitive for customers

2.HIERARCHY - An organization that concentrate on internal maintanence with a need for stability and control

3.ADHOCRACY-An organization that concentrates on external positioning with a high degree of flexibility and individuality

4.MARKET-An organization that concentrates on external maintanence with a need for stability and control.
