5. Most of the democratic countries of the world have abolished capital punishment-why-what are the arguments against capital punishment? Why do you think the United States still uses execution-what are the arguments in favor of it? If other countries had our crime rate, do you think they would want capital punishment? What are the arguments for and against capital punishment for juveniles. Do we draw the line according to age or severity of crime?
PLEASE WRITE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!!!
Capital punishment is a legal punishment for crime. It is also called death penalty. Most of the democratic countries abolished capital punishment. Because it is inhumane. It wrongly gives government the power to take human life. So it is human rights violation. Organisations like Amnesty international stands against death penalty. It also creates another form of crime deterrent.
In United States still has execution. In 2019, number of execution in U. S was 22 people.Death sentence ensures justice. It provides a deterrent against violent crime within a society. It reduces the number of prisoners. Most state laws allow life sentences for murder that eliminate the possibility of parole.
Capital punishment will reduce the number of crimes. But it is violation of human rights. So, an alternative to capital punishment is needed.
Capital punishment can never be imposed on a juvenile. Because studies shows that brain development is not full until the early 20's.So, for a juvenile, his brain continue to develop until atleast early 20's. So capital punishment is not fair for a juvenile.
