Critical Thinking Assignment #2

1. When is prayer in public school constitutional and when is it not? Why do you think the Supreme Court has been so strict when it comes to public school prayer while allowing other forms of government endorsement of religion, such as city-sponsored nativity scenes and school vouchers? Can private schools use free public schools textbooks and transportation (buses)? What else can private schools use from the public schools and can’t they use?

PLEASE WRITE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!!!!

School plays a very important role in the overall development of the students. It is a place where the students stay for a longer time other than his home. It is said that school is the second home for any child. In our schools, the students learn many things which help in the psychological and mental growth of a child. The school builds a rock solid formation and base for the students and they grow from buds to blooming flowers. The students learn different cultures, rituals and also learn to pay respect to other cultures too. The same thing applies to the school prayers. The prayers help in creating a religious atmosphere in which the students learn to respect religion. It helps in making students a good human being. The students also learn ethics and values which are very important form them to grow as a good human being.

The teachers also advised to help the students to learn various cultures as the students belong to different family backgrounds and cultures. The students treat teachers as their role models and they do what their teacher say especially in the primary classes. Therefore, the teachers must focus on creating an environment which respects all the cultures through the prayer meets.

The main reason behind the strictness of the Supreme Court regarding the school prayer is that a positive mind set should be there in the mind of students which respect other cultures too. As the students are the futures of any nation, so there positive development is very essential.

Yes, the private schools can use the free textbooks and transportation facilities as the public schools are aided by the government and hence they have lots of funds. The private schools can take advantage to this and can minimize to curb the cost at least for the books and the transportation as there are many expenses beyond it like: giving salaries, maintaining infrastructure, etc. They can have more funds for the development of the schools.
