In a hive, generally there is only one queen and als known as the mother of the colony. In a hive, only queen can lay eggs. The other bees are the drones which are originated from the unfertilized eggs whereas the worker and queen originated from the fertilized eggs.
There are the following caste when to raise a new queen.

If the queen had missing, died or absent in the hive then also they had to decide for the new queen.
If the vacant bee have to swarm.
The role played by nectar and pollen in the bees diet is collected by the worker bees for all types of bees in the hive. The bees store it in their stomach and pass it to the other bee's stomach. This transfer of nectar and pollent is repeated till the remval of water molecules. After the removal of the water from pollen and nectar, this fluid is called as honey and bees stored it into the honeycomb. The bees causes pollination in many plant species. The nectar and pollens constitutes the diet of the honey bees.
