Prognosis is the a medical condition of predicting the likenesses of having a disease. It also indicates the signs and symptoms of the underlying disease , showing whether they will improve or worsen .

The prognosis of Schizophrenia is varied at an individual level .i.e. either the information is collected individually or they are itself collected by the registers . The disease pays a cost to the individual. i.e. economic and human cost.  

The survival rate of a person decreases to that of 12 -15 years. It is due to several reasons such as obesity , smoking, lack of exercise , etc. Schizophrenic people have a trait of developing depression , and hence that leads to suicidal tendency.

Age :

The disease of Schizophrenia is majorly found among the age group of people ranging from 65 and after it. Cognitive impairement , is one of the factors which increases due in the course of time . This is very much prevalent in the older ages . This leads to lack of lomotive powers of an individual and hence becomes immobile . This problem tends to increase with age.

Body fat , body water , muscle mass are the ones which keeps on increasing and decreasing which leads to problems like extrapyramidal effect , anticholinergic toxicity , etc. This problem becomes a part of their day- to- day lives. The dose of sedatives increase as the individual turns older. They are kept under continual process of medication.

Talking from the Gender point of view, Men tend to face the problem in a severe way as compared to that of women. Women tend to face it in a milder form.
