If one has to succeed in career then start with self-management and motivate yourself by mastering the five self-management skills:
1. Positivity
One has to be positive from the inside in order to be seen on the outside. One should have long-term and short-term goals and try to achieve them. Do not to allow negative thoughts into your mind. Keep a target on the end-goal and do something every day to get one step closer to it. Don’t stress yourself, and always acknowledge your achievements.
2. Self-awareness
One should understand the causes of his or her behaviour and learn to observe oneself from an unbiased perspective and be your own manager. You may ask others to judge you. Initially, you may not like what you hear from them but instead of becoming self-justifying, try to be neutral.
3. Stress Management
Stress can affect the logical thinking, which is very much important for decision making. So, one needs to develop the skill of managing stress and it can be managed through ways like involving into physical activities, journaling, meditation etc.
4. Responsibility
Prioritise your tasks and most importantly accept the mistakes and learn from them. Self-management is all about expanding your horizons that comes with responsibility.
5. Productivity
In order to be highly productive is to manage your idle time. One can always schedule breaks, a weekend to relax and unwind. Proper planning and time management is the key to complete the tasks. One may switch tasks and come back later if he or she is losing focus or failing to make progress.
