Which theory is the manager using if planning change on the unit focuses on the self-motivation and commitment of the employees?
Theory Y
Path-Goal theory
Social Role theory
Hierarchy of Needs theory
I hope you will rate my answer positively ----
Theory Y, path - goal theory, hierarchy of need theory , all these three theory are associated with motivation .
But I think THEORY Y is correct option because in this theory employees are self controlled ,self- directed , and self- motivated. Theory Y make assumption that workers are motivated by manager to do something innovative and creative. They develop potential in employes to achieve common goals and develop responsibility towards their work. Management recognizes them and motivate them accordingly not only by money but make contributions and support towards their production .
PATH- GOAL THEORY-- This theory also be the right option of given question. Path - goal theory clarify path, define goals, provide support , remove any obstacles. Increase employe performance and satisfy them by focusing on employe motivation.
SOCIAL ROLE THEORY---- This theory is all about sex differences in behaviour of men and women distributed in society with their social roles.
HIERARCHY OF NEEDS---- It is theory based in human motivation to achieve basic requirements of individuals. Steps are -- physiological needs, security needs, Affiliation needs, esteem needs, self Actualization needs.
Thankyou.
