What is ethical behavior?

Ethical behavior refers to behavior which is consistent with morals and value of the society. In other words ethical behavior refers to behavior that is honest, fair, respectful and dignified.

According to the four-component model of ethical decision making, what determines whether or not someone engages in ethical behavior?

Four component model requires a person to have moral sensitivity; moral judgment; moral motivation and moral character to become ethical.

Moral sensitivity refers to awareness about the rules, norms, and values. People with moral sensitivity take into account who will be affected by their decisions and in what way.

Moral judgment refers to ability of the people to recognize what is right and what is what is wrong. A person with moral judgment requires them to be able to distinguish what is right under different circumstances.

Moral motivation refers to ability of the people to act in an ethical way though ethical decision making bring some serious consequences for the decision maker.

Moral character refers to the ability of the people to have sound moral character with characteristics like thinking, acting and behaving in an ethical way.
