Outline the functions of the following hormones in relation to digestion and/or the maintenance of metabolic balance: gastrin, cholecystokinin (CCK), insulin, glucagon and leptin.
Please look in the table for the functions of hormones:
| Hormones | Functions |
| Gastrin | G cells secretes gastrin. G cells are found in the pyloric of stomach and dudoneum. This gastrin is responsible for release of HCl from the parietal or oxyntic cells of the stomach. |
| Cholecystokinkn(CCK) | The mucosal epithelial cells of small intestine secretes CCK. It stimulates the release of gall baldder juice and pancreatic enzymes in the small intestine. |
| Insulin | Insulin is secreted by the beta cells of pancreas. It controls the glucose metabolism by converting glucose to the glycogen via glycogenesis. |
| Glucagon | It is secreted by the alpha cells of pancreas. It controls the glycosw metabolism by converting glycogen to glucose via glyconeolysis. |
| Leptin | This is released by the adipose tissue. It stimulates hypothalamus. This leads to increase food intake and stimulates appetite. It helps to maintain the normal weight of the body. |
