TOPIC: EMPLOYEE HEALTH AND SAFETY IN THE ORGANIZATION
Organization officials have a legal and moral responsibility to ensure that the workplace is free from unnecessary hazards. Employers hold responsibility for understanding what is necessary to keep workers safe from harm. Conditions surrounding the workplace must be secure for employee’s physical and mental health. As many organizations have implemented wellness program, that focus on smoking cessation, weight control, stress management, early diagnosis of health problems, prevention and education about life-style related and contagious illness. Wellness program can cut Employers health cost and lower absenteeism by preventing health related problems.

For any organization, it is very important to take care of the health and safety of its manpower not only during the normal circumstances but in fact it becomes very significant during the health emergency such as COVID 19. The organization can facilitate the following types of services to the employees to prevent the disease and help them during the event of infection=
Making sure that the organizational premise are free from any infection and regular sanitation and cleanliness is maintained
Testing every employee working in the organization for the symptoms of the disease
Providing safety equipment and supplementary items such a mask, hand sanitizer, gloves and so on to the employees
Those who show any symptoms must be isolated for others
If the employee gets infected then ensuring that the other who was in his or her contact is free from infection
The infected employee should be provided all the medical care and facilities
The infected person must be given healthcare compensation so that he or his family does not suffer financially
Before the infection, the employer should have the group health insurance for all the manpower.
