Do you think that we should have euthanasia/ assisted suicide in the US? Why/why not? Does the age of the person matter? Why/why not? Don't forget to also comment on classmates' posts.
The constitution of the US grants it's every citizen the rights and freedom to exercise their choice. The main problem concerning the practice of euthanasia results from society's conception of death. Death is often seen as the end of life and the emotional attachment friends and family have over an individual makes it a plain reality. However, death should also be a choice as it can be the ultimate escape from a pain a person is enduring. If we can have liberty or freedom on other things we can have the right to choose to die. The age does play a main factor here since the decision usually comes out a person's deeply philosophical and life view. However, people of a young age might not have the courage or the same attitude an experienced has towards the concept of Euthanasia. But this can be solved with the change in the overall conception of death. However, the pain and the loss associated with death is likely to make people not ecourage ethanasia.
