Answer to the question:
I am a GST Officer with Government of India and working in this department since past 10 years. I am a qualified Chartered Accountant which helps me to discharge my duties with ease in this profession since so much of accounting is involved. I am not only doing the office work but due to my expertise, I am being utilized by my seniors for other out of office works such as raids and preventive work. I have been labelled by my seniors as a credible, sincere and honest officer.
The three pillars of credibility are character, caring and competence. To establish one's credibility, all of these pillars are needed. Let me explain all the pillars one by one in relation to my work. Character is one of the important pillar as it is staying true to your commitment while maintaining high moral standards and values. You need to respect your commitments, honor your words and stay true to your work. If you don't stay true to your words and don't honor your commitments, nobody will believe you at the workplace and you will not be respected.
Caring is showing understanding towards interests of your subordinates and other staff. You need to respect your colleagues and their feelings. You need to connect with them at their work. You should share their ideas, views and emotions at work. Remember, your actions will be reciprocated in the same manner. Give respect, take respect.
Lastly, competence is the ability to do specific tasks. This is built up due to experience in the work or field. Since, I am working with department since past 10 years, I have worked at almost all sections and have gained experience in almost all fields. Hence, my seniors are readily willing to give me any task and I never fail to accomplish them.
Through all of the above pillars of credibility, I have been able to develop myself a credible officer in the department who is having passion to do something different and work for the department with complete devotion.
