Professionalism refers to the conduct, behavior and attitude of someone in a business environment. Professional attitude described as that a person has the ability to effectively manage their time, display leadership, act in an ethical manner and show tenacity and determination towards work. Professionalism includes a variety of personal qualities and behaviors that demonstrate commitment to effective performance in a given situation or condition.

The banking system’s foundation is professionalism and code of ethics. The reputation of a bank and its employees’ actions reflect the professionalism that affects its potential for profit, growth and development. All individuals who are working in the banking sector are required to act in a fair and honest manner. The qualities which show professionalism in a banker are quick learner, analytical skills, awareness, honesty, confidence, technical skills, leadership and organized personality. Banking sector is a challenging profession that looks to its talented workforce to help boost the economy and restore public faith in the industry. If employees of banking sector act in a fair and honest manner then this will help to protect the interest of customers, colleagues and counterparties and the wider interests of society as well. Observing the law is one basic professional requirement for banking sector because the banking sector has to work totally on the rules and regulations under different acts and laws. Professionally qualified person who works in bank have an extremely high level of professional pride in their work, compared to their non-professionally qualified employees. Those bankers, who have made a strong commitment to professionalism, profoundly believe in the value of what they are doing. Banking industry is an important area of a country, ever country wants to grow and develop its banking sector and its employees by giving them training of being professional at work. I am currently working as a banker and it is my responsibility to satisfy customer’s needs with banking and country’s need.
