WHAT IS PSYCHOLOGY? Psychology is a scientific study of one's mind and behavior according to America Psychological Association. It is a versatile discipline which includes many sub-fields of study that includes human development, health, social behavior, sports and cognitive processes. It is the study of mind, thought, feeling and behavior of an individual. The person who does the field of study of psychology is called the psychologist. He is the person who tries to read the individual's mind and social behavior.

In this essay, I am going to write about the psychological behaviour of a person when he gets love and romance in his life.

ALL ABOUT LOVE: Early in our life, the first experience of love we had is from the mother or the father that was through the feeling of warmth, affection, and nurturance; this feeling of love changes as the age goes on and also the level of our emotional behavior.

The emotional affectionate behavior give us the secured feeling with some, happy with some, protective with someone, etc.

LOVE AND ROMANCE: To love and romance, first thing you need is to identify or find out a companion, make the friendship, form a good relationship, and finally you can continue with love and romance that companion.

First thing we see is the look of the person, obedience with others, attitudes which matches with our attitude, the way he presents himself or herself, kindness, humor, helping tendency, etc. Once you identified the person of your choice, self introduction takes place between us and knowing each other and knowing about some interesting things would happen, so that, both would make a closer relationship.

After such good friendship, one will proceed to the next step to go further if it is a real love; one person could wait for the other to propose or the person himself or herself propose the other partner. If everything is okay with them, they continue loving each other and maintain a trustworthy love and affection.

In psychology, you can see the basic love relationship from the emotional perspective point of view which of two types namely passionate love and companionate love.

Passionate Love is considered with intense emotions, desire for union with the romantic partner and obsessive thoughts. Some examples are obsession over the lovers, infatuation on a stranger, etc.

Companionate Love is considered as an affectionate feeling and emotional attachment towards the partner with whom we want to continue our entire life, you can say a deep love. Some examples are comfortable and trust feeling while in love.

The important factor which has to be maintained here in love is that the most wanted 'trust' between the male and female. Trustworthiness is the key factor in any friendship and that to in love, this is the most important factor at anytime of our life to take it for a long run in our life. Because, when the trust is lost, everything is lost; there is a possibility of breaking up the love between the two.

If it is a good and trustworthy love; both the people wait if they have any commitments to be completed like completing studies, getting a good job of their choice, any achievements in sports, pursuing further studies, getting permission from their parents, etc. If no other commitments are there, they carry on with marriages and continue their love life throughout their lifetime.

Relationships are made as a step-by-step process. We build an emotional connection in relationships by making eye contacts, touching, dating, and to have more conversations if not in person with the opposite partner to make the relationship closer to our hearts. Giving gifts often is a way of expressing our emotional sense of gratitude; this would happen everytime in an established relationship.

Whichever stage the relationship may be; giving some emotional gifts makes the love relationship as active, because this is not a business partnership, so we need to make it more active as always. Some surprise gifts or unplanned long trips are some of the stimulating factors of love relationship if it lacks the substance or spice of love.

ROMANCE: The term romance has been devised in the triangular theory of love that has been developed by Robert Sternberg, the psychologist; the main components of love are passion, intimacy and the commitment. Here, passion refers to the drive to connect the couple, intimacy is the feeling of attachment, connectedness, closeness and even the bondage between the couple, and finally the commitment refers to the commitment made by both. Overall, you can say that it is an emotional feeling of love and attraction towards another person and the resultant bondage with them.

Psychologists listed out the love and romance of seven types.

1. Intimacy = Liking/friendship.
2. Passion = Infatuated love.
3. Commitment = Empty love.
4. Intimacy + passion = Romantic love.
5. Intimacy + Commitment = Companionate love.
6. Passion + Commitment = Fatuous love.
7. Intimacy + Passion + Commitment = Consummate love.

We can conclude that the love is the indomitable force which fills us with unbound energy and it is a strong emotion. The definition of love could be different from one person to other, the experience we get from every person we love starting from mother, sister, brother, sibling, peer, friends, daughter, son, grand children, etc. Each emotion with all these people mentioned here varies and differs a lot from one to the other and it is more personal and more emotional.

THE CHARACTERISTIC OF A LONG LASTING LOVE: When the couple reaches the companionship stage, or connected through wedding, a companionate love would last longer when the two partners believe in their long term relationship with trustworthiness.
