Marketing is arguably the most important activity for any small business but especially in launching a new product, regardless of the quantity of your product if no one knows about what you offer they cant buy .The trick to successful marketing is to focus on what the custmor wants according to the small business administration. To do that you need to understand your market.

1. develop your unique selling proposition which identifies the qualities of your sport product that sets you apart from your completion .Uniqueness can come in a variety of ways including price method or quality of services size color and other characterterstics or attributes. being new isn't unique .instead identifying new in your unique selling proposition should refer to innovation or something different that sets your new productapert from the old ones

2. turn your business features into benfits customer don&#39t buy your product and then buy what your product will do for them when creating your marketing plan you want to focus on the customers benefits not on what your product offers .

3.identify your target which is the group of peoplewho want or need what your selling . List their charactertices such as age gender socioeconomic status and other characteristics. Also identify their motivation for wanting your product. you can have more than one target group.

4. determine the place your target market visit and the media outlets they read or watch . when it comes time to promate your business you 'll want to put your promotional materials directly in front of your market. to do this you need to know what your target market reads what places they frequent which ratio stations they listion to, what websites they visit and what groups they belong to.

5.creat marketing materials that speak to your target audience. if you have more than one target group tailor your materials to fit each of them . for example if you sell weight loss products your target groups may be young mothers and people with diabetes. while both want to lose weight their reasons will be different.

6.create a plan to position your marketing materials where your market will see them . run ads or submit paid articls in the magazines or websites members of your target market visit. put business cards or flires in location your potentional customers frequent .

7.create a website or blog that provides current news and information your market will want to stay informed about .the strategies you use should focus on your customer where they are and what types of marketing to which they respond ads
