Marketing plan with pre-existing company
Amazon launches their own delivery service.
I'm as a marketing manager and have been asked by the company I work for to identifying a target market (consumer of business) whose need are not currently being met, not being met satisfactorily or even recognized. Marketing managers also should think about competitive offerings, and how their offering will be communicated and delivered. Emphasis could be on the solution being actionable and realistic.
8. How will you market and sell the product, how will you strategize. What Market Mix will you use?
The marketing of the Amazon’s own delivery service will be focussed on differentiating this offering from other form of fulfillment that Amazon.com offer to its customers. The branding of the offering will be build around:
Reliability of the service
Quicker delivery time
Delivery as per requirement
Wider coverage
Assurance of product and service quality
The service has to be marketed as “ Amazon fulfilled” and this should inspire confidence among customers to opt for this option against other fulfillment options available on Amazon.com
The marketing mix to be used for this offering would be:
Product: A premium service offering by Amazon from Amazon.com for its customers assring product delivery on time and as per requirement.
Price: Delivery charges to be charged extra for premium service and assurance of quality delivery
Place: This offering will be put on Amazon.com website and would be rolled out for certain category of products and certain locations to begin with. Based on response it would be rolled out through out all product categories.
Promotion: Extensive promotion on Amazon.com showcasing varios options and highlighting “ Amazon fulfilled” delivery option. The guaranteed delivery should be clearly highlighted with the extra charges to assure the customer and convice him to opt for this alternative.
