(1A) Describe each domain of development (language, cognitive, physical and social/emotional) for a child who is 4 years of age.

Language development:

A 4-year-old child, speaks 250 to 500 words. This child can answer simple questions, speak in sentences of five to six words & complete sentences.

Cognitive development:

At this age, Child should be at the "Preoperational" stage of Piaget's cognitive development theory, characterized by the ability to use Symbolic thoughts. This means the child cannot use logic or transform, combine or separate ideas.

Physical development

At this age, the child should be running, hopping, throwing and kicking balls, climbing, and swinging with ease. Other movement milestones and hand and finger skills the child may achieve in the coming year include being able to: Stand on one foot for more than 9 seconds. Do a somersault and hop.

Emotional / Social Development:

An 8-year-old may show some awareness of moral reasoning, such as “fairness”, and good or bad behavior. He may develop friendships, express more awareness of other people's feelings, enjoy imaginative play with other children, such as dress up or house.

Language Development activity: Listening of story and trying to recite what he remembered.

Cognitive development activity: Telling a child to use an object such as broom to pretend as a horse. And using this broom to ride and run.

Physical development activity: Running, jumping and swimming.

Emotional / Social Development activity: Asking who at playschool are his good friends and why they are good.

(3)Praising and motivating the child to help them to be ready in morning for playschools. (Children at this age try to avoid going at playschools).
