1a) A 5 year old child's development is on the basis of following domains: (a) Language: At this age child uses descriptive language skills but a shorter version of sentences. There is a growth in the vocabulary, adaptable language.Generally, they would follow daily instructions independently, like brush your teeth.Additionaly, they may follow multi step instructions and a visibly improved comprehension. (b) Cognitive: Kids tend to express themselves and can tackle behavioural as well as academic concepts in the class. They can understand the concept of good and bad. Most of the times their play is based on drama ,enactment and imagination. (c)Physical: The kids of this age have a stable balanced posture and precision in their bodily movements.Physically, as they become active, their body developed more muscles and less fatty depositions. There is overall development of gross motor and fine motor skills.  (d) Social /Emotional: Kids learn to develop interpersonal relationships outside their immediate family circle and start making their self identity. This results in emergence of 'buddy groups' of 2-3 kids who share similar traits, likes and dislikes.
