Motivation is a force that energizes action. That force can be internal (intrinsic), external (extrinsic), or both.

List and explain two intrinsic and two extrinsic motivators that motivate you to be successful in school or your current career/future career. Why do these things motivate you?

Extrinsive motivators - The things outside the individual that encourages him to achieve the goals are extrinsive motivators.They are factors which are considered external to a individual.

2 extrinsive motivators are -

1) Awards - When the person knows that he/she will be awarded for their work , this will motivate them to work more effeciently.In case of children also, if they know that they will be awarded with medals or trophies for their work , it boost their energy level and motivate them to give their best.

2) Promotion/ Grading - In a company or a business , every person wishes to be promoted. Everyone prefer growth and development . If they know, that their good work will help them to be promoted , their effeciency level will increase. Promotion is a big motivator for an employee.Like employees are concerned with promotion, children or students are concerned with grades. The grading system motivates them to work more hard as it reflects their capabilities and intelligence.

Intrinsive motivators - The factors internal to a person which encourages them to work or achieve a desired goal, are called intrinsive motivators.These are those factors which makes the person feel good.These things are done because the person enjoys doing it, not because they are pressurised by something.

2 intrinsive factors are -

1) Curiousity - When the person is curious/desires to learn ,it motivates them in their work. It gives a push to a person to explore him and learn more.eg when a person is curious to know the end of the novel, he'll read it till late night also.This curiosity to know then end, motivates him to be awake even a night.

2) Challenge - When the person recieves a challenge from someone, it motivates them to achieve that goal at any cost because they want to prove that they can do it.

So, these are 2 extrinsive and 2 intrinsive factors , that motivates a person.
