Motivation may be regarded as something which prompts, compels and energizes an individual to act or behave in a particular manner at a particular time for attaining some specific goal or purpose.
Intrinsic Motivation- The intrinsic motivation is the tendency to find challenges, to push to find out more, explore as much as possible. According to professor Steven Reiss, there are 16 basic desires that motivate our actions and define our personality.
Extrinsic Motivation- The extrinsic or external motivation, motivate us to perform an activity or work to earn a reward or avoid punishment.
In my opinion, the intrinsic motivation is better than the extrinsic motivation because the extrinsic motivation motivates us to find the reward related to activity so that we can be conditioned to get the reward or avoid negative reinforcement.
The training plan for motivation belongs to the need of an individual, if the need seems to be more effective, individual will be directed to goal and objectives.
For extrinsic motivation, we can provide incentives or fear for motivation practices while intrinsic motivation needs more efforts like the best place for work, performance-based motivation practice etc.
The intrinsic motivation practices help to increase the capability and productivity for long period of time while extrinsic motivation practices work for short period of time.
