OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS :-
1) Medical Use :- Omega-3 fatty acids are used together with lifestyle changes (diet, weight-loss, exercise) to reduce the amount of triglycerides (a fat-like substance) in the blood in people with very high triglycerides.Omega-3 fatty acids are in a class of medications called antilipemic or lipid-regulating agents.
2) Medical Contraindications :-
blockage of the esophagus.
blockage or narrowing of the duodenum.
a narrowing of the opening between the stomach and the small
intestine.
appendicitis.
inflammatory bowel disease.
paralysis of the intestines.
blockage of the stomach or intestine.
3) Side Effects :- Side effects of omega-3 supplements are usually
mild. They include unpleasant taste, bad breath, bad-smelling
sweat, headache, and gastrointestinal symptoms such as heartburn,
nausea, and diarrhea. Several large studies have linked higher
blood levels of long-chain omega-3s with higher risks of prostate
cancer.
4) Any Drug Interactions :- Omega 3 fatty acids have no known
severe interactions with other drugs. Omega 3 fatty acids have no
known serious interactions with other drugs. Omega 3 fatty acids
have moderate interactions with at least 25 different drugs.Omega-3
