What may make a home or dwelling a less suitable target for burglars? How might this help law enforcement?

Solutions

Expert Solution

As the society progresses, the crime rate keeps increasing as well. Although the society has equipped itself with enough security measures and policing, the soft nature of law and the increasing amount of economic and social inequality in the Society forces certain people to engage in crime.
One of the major reasons for houses being targeted for robbery is its location. If it is located away from the other houses, it would be targeted. So, in this case, the house should have enough security measures such as dogs, guns etc.
Secondly, if the house has no CCTV, it would be targeted as there would be no proof. Fitting CCTVs around the house will make it less attractive to robbers.
Thirdly, valuable properties the houses hold in them tempt the robbers to engage in robbery. Keeping less or no valuables at home will keep the robbers away.
Finally, the house should have enough lighting in order to make intruders visible.
All these would reduce the burden of the law enforcement officers because these measures are the replacement of the police who otherwise should be patrolling the area day and night.
