less than 250 words, what it might be like to live with a psychotic disorder. What might it be like to live with auditory and visual hallucinations? What might it be like to take antipsychotic medication with strong side effects? How might you be able to cope with such a chronic condition?
Psychotic disorders are characterized by abnormal behaviors, hallucinations and keeping oneself away from reality. One of the worst conditions one would experience in one’s life is psychotic disorders, because other people will reject one and refuse to have any connections with them. This will further their illness and frustration thus forcing them to take decisions to harm themselves and others around them. They may also become very challenging to be managed.
Some people experience both auditory and visual hallucinations, or any one at a time which would make them either scared if it is terrible ones or ecstasy if they are pleasant. Some people keep moving away from their place as if they are guided by a voice or they would do some silly things because they had a vision. At extreme conditions, they would hurt themselves by obeying to the voice or vision.
People who take antipsychotic medication will experience side effects such as blurred vision, dry mouth, drowsiness, muscle spasms or tremors and weight gain. This would further their trouble and make them very scared, frustrated and inactive.
Any physical or mental illness should be treated in a humanistic way, meaning that they should be cared and supported positively. They should be given adequate social support and accepted in the society rather than keeping them away from the society. They could be taught a useful hobby such as gardening, reading etc. which would bring positive vibration.
