In humans, the inheritance of Height is best explained as being Polygenic.

Polygenic = poly = many; genic = genes. It is the kind of inheritance in which more than 2 genes are involved in inheriting of a character. Example = in humans, skin color, heights, etc are polygenic traits. As we do not see one or 2 kinds of heights but a variety of heights of humans and same with skin color.

Sickle cell anemia ---- it is a X-linked Recessive disease controlled by single gene,h. The h gene has 2 alleles, contrasting character H = dominant --- disease free; h = recessive ------ diseased only in Homozygous Recessive condition. It is Monogenic.
