Which of the five conflict styles is most difficult
for you to implement? Why?
How do you feel when engaged in
conflict? What metaphor describes your feeling: Is conflict
like war? A game? A mess? A trial?
Think about a conflict you had with a supervisor,
co-worker, or group member. How did the interaction make you feel
about yourself?
As a leader, when is it appropriate for you to engage
in conflict?
1.
The conflict style named as collaborating is most difficult to
implement, as individuals come up with their own ideas, interests
and benefits, and don’t want to lose ground and give space to
others’ ideas. It can be observed when departmental interests
supersede the organizational goals and departments don’t
collaborate. Hence, the different components of the organization
learning to collaborate and make them work collaboratively to grow
as a system is most difficult to implement.
2.
I fee conflict as an opportunity to bring people at one platform
and convince them to work towards the one goal. This one goal is to
create mutual benefits and, in organizational perspective, the
organization grows when conflicts as an opportunity is resolved.
So, the metaphor used for conflict is a game, when two parties take
their steps or strategies and end up with a results, that is best
for both the parties. This best result is most beneficial to all
the parties involved and the organization also benefits.
