Which of the five conflict styles is most difficult for you to implement? How does this style make you feel about yourself? (Some describe conflict as; a war, a mess, a trial, gamesmanship)
Answer: I feel that the avoiding style of conflict management where a conflict is avoided is one of the most difficult for me to implement. One of the major reasons behind this is that it involves overlooking the conflict and moving forward. This means a person is trying to ignore reality. I feel that we cannot live by ignoring facts and for better outcomes it is always desirable to deal with the issues rather than running away from them. I am not a person who believes in running away from realities. Therefore I feel that I am most uncomfortable while using this style of conflict management.
This style makes me feel that at times I am not practical as in some situations it is practical to ignore the realities in order to move forward. This style also makes me feel that I am honest and brave and can deal with the bitter facts of life. I rather face realities than running away from them. In my opinion this style is suitable for the people who are more opportunistic rather than honest and straightforward.
