For a midcareer HR person to get promoted one step above the current position, one has to highlight the experiences and competencies that are gained and contributions that are made and recognized during past working at the company.

So, one will express following points in the resume:

  1. I had been prompt and punctual to work place with excellent presence at work place. I had informally motivated many people to improve their presence at work place.
  2. Last year December I had voluntarily accepted a critical assignment of performance audit for our off shore office which needed working during festive season.
  3. I have conducted a performance appraisal for the Production department of the company independently for last two years. This has helped me to gain sound understanding of organization’s performance appraisal system and its objectives.
  4. I had completed a training certificate on ‘Strategic human resource management’ which makes my candidature for promotion strong.
  5. Since I had been part of internal complaint committee, I had understood the nature and methods of resolving internal conflicts and complaints in conjunction with this company’s values and culture.
  6. I had also been part of the restructuring project of Sales department. During the project I had been instrumental in counseling and carrying change without dissent of employees.
  7. I am proficient on HRM module of ERP due to my elective on MIS during my Bachelors degree and had been involved in training to other staff of HR department on ERP usage.
  8. Had been serving organization for four year on same level and received ‘performer of the year’ recognition twice in this time block.
  9. I had actively participated in Regional and National HR conclave and had contributed through articles published in proceedings. I am also a life time member of local chapter of society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).

Note: 1 & 2 are behavioral competencies; 3 & 4 are technical competencies; 5 & 6 is managerial/leadership experience; 7 for IT skills; 8 & 9 for commitment at work place and interest in HR field.
