Review HR roles, tasks, and processes which will be “top of mind” for you as an emerging leader in a health care setting. How has the final project prepared you for your journey as a future HCA? How does HR in health care positively impact the employee, the employer, and the patient?

They have many different roles within healthcare but work closely with healthcare administrators in order to complete most of these tasks as the leaders have more of a hands on approach and relationship with the employees of the company. They can positively impact the employee and employer by creating a smooth transition into new employment into an organization and alleviating responsibilities with problem solving with employee insubordination and issues. They are beneficial partners with developing job descriptions and analysis and creating a top notch review of benefits for any recruitment process. They are extremely involved in not only the interview portion of recruitment but in the development aspect of any position. They are necessary in any business but healthcare especially due to the common multi-system nature of many healthcare organizations.

Include three HR terms or concepts which were unfamiliar to you before this course, and which will be a focus for you as an emerging HCA.

For three terms I was not aware of before this course were a few in the most recent modules. I had completed a LMS in the past but never thought to think about the actual system that was being used. I had never heard of a learning management system, but after reading more about it, am intrigued to try and incorporate it into my current place of work. Another term I had never heard of was, but was aware of its existence in a small sense was performance appraisal. I had heard of this term before but had never thought of its importance within healthcare industry to ensure compliance to standards within healthcare. Lastly the last term I learned more about within this course would have to be the total rewards model. As a healthcare administrator, its an important responsibility to recruit new talent into the organization and that requires a total reward model. The idea that I and not thought of before is the idea of comparting the rewards of a company to a similar company in the service area or close by. These terms will help me with my career as well as many more subject within this course.
