Being new to the organisation, you have very limited knowledge of the organisational dynamics, industry and funding preferences. As a project manager on a important project, the duties are to define the scope of the project, planning of the project with important stakeholders, defining the budget for the project, listing the resources required for the project including financial resources and human resources, formulation of risk management plan for the project and validating the project roadmap with important team members including stakeholders with communication. Since the project requires adequate funding, it is necessary to give attention to the costs, planned budgets, procurement planning, required quality standards and seek support from the stakeholders and team members for advising on funding. As a project manager, it is necessary to manage the stakeholders expectations.

The steps of the project management are required to be followed including initiation, planning, implementation, monitoring and control, closure of the project. The project needs to be controlled as per the schedule and any variation or changes required needs to be approved by stakeholders. Any changes in the scope of the project needs to be well documented and included in project to check the impact on project schedule and responsibilities of the project team.
