Some DRM systems have been implemented on open systems and some have been implemented in closed systems.
a. What is the primary advantage of implementing DRM on a closed system?
b. What is the primary advantage to implementing DRM on an open platform?
The primary advantage of implementing DRM(Digital Rights Management) system on a closed system is that it restricts the users from making multiple copies of the software whichever they owns. basically it puts damper on piracy which is a beneficial aspect for the closed systems.
The primary advantage of implementing DRM on open system is that it
porvides some kind of security so that hackers will not be able to
attack the system. In open source DRM usually acts as placebo as
open source doesnot restrict on multiple copies, but it doesnot
want the systems to be modified maliciously.
