Expert Solution

1. Why would steve jobs want to partner with bill gates.

Steve Jobs would like to work with Bill Gates to develop new technologies and improved software that would have little competition in the industry and would increase the company's sales and earnings.

2. What is Apple's strategy ? Is it effective?

It is not an effective strategy because it would result in sharing strategy and existing technology with Microsoft that would dilute Apple's market-leading stronghold and could also lead to Microsoft moving ahead of Apple by using Apple's technology to its own benefit.

3. According to christensen, the innoustor's dilemma the world thanks innovators for new product but won't buy them. Does his statement hold for Apple in general and for its iphone, in particular ?

Christensen's argument remains both for Apple and for it's Iphone. This is because while consumers welcome the arrival of any new product on the market they do not buy it until it has been very popular because no one wants to invest their money into something that is not tried and tested and that is not already well recognized. Innovation is thus praised, but consumer success still relies on accessibility and encouraging word of mouth.
