Psychology is the science which deals and connects the inner of a person to the outer world.It means the light and shadow of one person's inner mind's connection to his thoughts ,attitudes and behaviour to his life as well to the society.As a developed nation USA had achieved great heights in the field of Psycho logy.
The contributions of many eminent psychologists added much to the development of the is branch of Science.Among them the First one is William James who is known as the First American psychologist who decided to to teach Psychology course in USA and he is known as Father of Psychology in USA.His famous work is Principles of Psychology which introduced a new thought as Functionalism.
The next change in psychology was the introduction of behaviourism which was strongly supported by another great scientist John B Watson who presented his ideas on it in his work Psychology as the behaviourist views it.The new concept known as Humanistic psychology which is also known as the Third Force was found by Carl Rogers.He advocated the power of free will and self determination.
Abraham Maslov who had contributed the theory of hierarchy of needs gave another dimension to the progress of psychology which revealed the particular behaviour of human beings to satisfy the pyramid of needs.The developments in psychology all over the world had influenced the Psychological studies in USA also .
Stanley hall was the founder of scientific pedagogy which deals with the importance of psychological approach in education.This thought gave birth to many principles and theories in teaching learning process.Carolyn Attneave is the founder of network therapy which deals with the therapy for change in attitudes.Many and more psychologists worked for the up liftment of this branch
