I work for a travel and tourism company where I I contacted my tourism manager who recruits new employees in the department.

Some major skills that a hospitality and tourism manager should possess are as follows.

Being analytical

Analytical skills can be defined as a quality to visualise conceptualize and solve the complex or uncomplicated problems with the help of decision making by the given information.

If a manager is working in hospitality and tourism industry then they should have ability to extract the correct conclusion by having the information from the customers which could be very beneficial for the organisation they are working for.

Communication skills

A manager working in tourism and hospitality industry should have excellent communication skills where this type of approach would provide competitive advantage as it helps the manager to build better relation with their customers increasing the chances of getting better service as well as to understand their needs. Proper communication which is the chances of winning in the negotiation process where manager would have a positive hand in Operation benefiting the organisation as well building their own image in the specific industry.

Ability to interact

This is one the most prominent skills that a manager should have working in tourism industry. If any manager is not able to interact with diversified cultures then there are very limited options in a tourism industry for a manager with having such a specific skill set.
