Internal and external hiring process
Internal hiring process is a process in which the organization
looks to fill the vacancy from its existing workforce and it does
not consider hiring the employee outside the organization, on the
other hand external hiring process is a process in which the
organization looks to fill the vacancy from outside the
organization and it does not consider him the employees from inside
the organization. Internal hiring process gives an opportunity for
the existing employees so that they can be promoted to higher job
position and perform better. Similarly the external hiring process
gives an opportunity for the outsider to fit a particular position,
such type of requirement it arises in the company when there is no
suitable candidate in the organization who can be promoted to a
particular position.
The different interview types in human resource are as
follows-
1. Structured or pattern interview- this type of interview is the
most common type of interview and it is a pre-planned interview
which is done carefully on the basis of design and questions which
have a high degree of accuracy. The questions which are asked in a
particular order have a very little deviation and they have
standard set of answers to these questions.
2. Unstructured interview - this type of interview is unstructured
interview and it is designed so that the interviewee speak freely.
The main aim of this type of interview is to give the candidate
complete freedom in terms of answering the questions and there is
no pre decided set of questions.
3. Depth interview- this type of interview is done in order to
examine the candidates background and thinking and it gets into
considerable details on a particular subject which is important in
nature depending upon the social interest of the candidate. The
typical subjects which are discussed in such type of interviews
provide details about the thinking patterns of the employee. The
interviewer provides instruction information about organization and
the nature of work and opportunities for advancement in the
organization.
4. Stress interview- this type of interview is done in order to put
the candidate deliberately on stress and it test the candidates
behavior and ability to manage stress and strain. There are
negative questions asked to him which puts him in awkward situation
and the behavior and the response of the interviewee is carefully
watched in order to maintain and emotional stability and
balance.
5. Group interview- this type of interview is also called
discussion interview and in this type of interview a group of
candidate is given a certain problems and is asked to come to a
specific decision within a given time limit. The interview sit's
over and watches the interview.
6. Formal interview- in this type of interview the interview is
held in an employment department by the employment officer in a
formal atmosphere with the help of questions which are pre-planned
and have a predetermined answers.
7. Informal interview- this type of interview is an oral interview
which takes place on any day and the staff is required on a urgent
basis in such a situation this type of interviews is conducted.
This type of interview is not pre-planned and the question asked to
the candidates are generally informal.
